Youth and Children

At Christ Church, we love to welcome children and families. Our goal is to be a place where we:

LEARN - parents and children can know more about God and the momentous good news about His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, through biblical, creative and age-appropriate teaching and worship

LOVE - families can enjoy coming to Sunday services, small groups and weekends away and find them to be caring, fun and safe places to be

LIVE - families can discover what living God's way looks like at home, school and work

Midweek Groups

Join us from 10.00am-11.30am on Friday mornings at Christ Church for a stay and play group for children aged 0-3 and their carers. Join us for free play, singing and stories. Please click here for more information and to sign up.

For those ages 11-14 there is a chance to meet on Friday evenings during term time. During CCY, we dig deeper into God's word so that we are equipped to live for Christ at school and in our community. We hang out and chat all this through in a fun and relaxed environment with food, and plenty of table tennis and games. Newcomers always welcome. Email breanna@christchurchkensington.com for more information.

Sunday Groups

We love having children at Christ Church and want to make sure our sunday services are a place where the whole family can learn about the Lord Jesus. All the children remain in the 11.00am service for the first 5-10 minutes and then head out to their age-specific groups. This gives them a chance to learn and play while the adults listen to more in-depth teaching during the sermon.

All our helpers are DBS checked and you can read our Safeguarding Policy here. You can contact our children's team via breanna@christchurchkesington.com for more details about the following programs:

A chance for babies and their grown-ups to follow the service in a more relaxed setting with toys, comfortable chairs for nursing and a video link to the service. The Crèche room is located at the back of church in the Vestibule.

An opportunity for our youngest children to have supervised fun, playing with toys and singing songs with friends, while parents are freed up to remain in the main service. We meet in the John Sinclair room on the West End gallery.

In Roots, we teach big truths to small children in a regular weekly pattern of songs, games and crafts to help us learn the Bible story for that week. We look at all sorts of different Bible books because we want to know all that God has to say to us and have recently explored 1 Peter, Judges and John’s gospel. We meet in the Vestry at the front of church.

Shoots is a non-stop whirlwind of fun and friends with Christ at the centre. We follow the same teaching program as shoots as we open up the bible together, complete with games and crafts to reinforce the learning. We meet in the Brian Ferrey room at the top of the stairs.

”I  have a young family with 3 boys under 7. The Sunday School provides the perfect balance to their 15 minutes in the main church. To start with, they were nervous about going in on their own but the helpers were very welcoming and soon the boys were charging in on their own! “ James Hanbury,  Member of Christ Church
