Youth and Children

At Christ Church, we love to welcome children and families. Our goal is to be a place where we:

LEARN - parents and children can know more about God and the momentous good news about His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, through biblical, creative and age-appropriate teaching and worship

LOVE - families can enjoy coming to Sunday services, small groups and weekends away and find them to be caring, fun and safe places to be

LIVE - families can discover what living God's way looks like at home, school and work

Midweek Groups

Sunday Groups

We love having children at Christ Church and want to make sure our sunday services are a place where the whole family can learn about the Lord Jesus. All the children remain in the 11.00am service for the first 5-10 minutes and then head out to their age-specific groups. This gives them a chance to learn and play while the adults listen to more in-depth teaching during the sermon.

All our helpers are DBS checked and you can read our Safeguarding Policy here. You can contact our children's team via breanna@christchurchkesington.com for more details about the following programs:

A chance for babies and their grown-ups to follow the service in a more relaxed setting with toys, comfortable chairs for nursing and a video link to the service. The Crèche room is located at the back of church in the Vestibule.

An opportunity for our youngest children to have supervised fun, playing with toys and singing songs with friends, while parents are freed up to remain in the main service. We meet in the John Sinclair room on the West End gallery.

Roots is a non stop whirlwind of fun and friends with Jesus at the centre. We follow a regular pattern of songs, games, craft and activities to help us understand the Bible story better. We teach big truth to small children and pray that strong roots would be formed for a lifetime of faith. We meet in the vestry at the front of church.

In shoots we follow the same teaching programme as Roots with more time look at the bible for ourselves. Complete with games, craft and activities to reinforce the learning. We meet at the Vicarage, just along Eldon Road.

CCY Sunday is a space for our young people to enjoy the service in a relaxed setting. There time for catching up, games and prayer. The focus of our time is listening to the sermon via a video link and a guided discussion after. We want our teenagers to make the most of listening to God's word taught in an environment that helps them to do that best. We meet in the Brian Ferrey room at the top of the stairs.

”I  have a young family with 3 boys under 7. The Sunday School provides the perfect balance to their 15 minutes in the main church. To start with, they were nervous about going in on their own but the helpers were very welcoming and soon the boys were charging in on their own! “ James Hanbury,  Member of Christ Church
